This advanced adventure requires higher than average fitness level in order to achieve the summit in what can be very challenging conditions. But the rewards are phenomenal; 360 degree views of the surrounding majestic and wild Tian Shan Mountain range and the sense of achievement in attaining a peak very rarely attempted by anyone in one of the world’s most beautiful settings.

Full Itinerary for Peak Palatka Advanced Climbing Adventure
Day 1: Arrive in Bishkek, view the city
Day 2: Overland by car to Karakol town where we will sort out equipment rental
Day 3: We are will drive from Karakol town for approximately 3-hours to the Altyn-Arashan by 4×4, from where we will walk 4-5-hours to the Eki-Chat camp (2800m).
Day 4: Eki-Chat to the Yiri-Tor glacier 6-7 hours walking (camp at 3900m)
Day 5: Yiri-Tor glacier to the Sary-Chat glacier, crossing the Sary-Chat pass 4200m. We will walk 5-6-hours (camp at 4200m)
Day 6: Summit day! We will start at 4:00 o’clock in a morning, ascent will 10-15 hours, staying at the same camp (4200m)
Day 7: Sary-Chat camp to the Eki-Chat camp 7-8 hours (camp at 2800m)
Day 8: Eki-Chat to Altyn-Arashan (2400m). After 4-5-hours walking we can take a well-deserved and very relaxing dip in the natural hot springs
Day 9: Altyn-Arashan to Ak-Su vilage 4-5 hours walking then by car to Karakol town
Day 10: (stock day) for bad weather/rest etc
Day 11: Return to Bishkek for a night on the town
Day 12: Fly out of Bishkek
‘Palatka’ means ‘tent’ in Russian – the twin peaks are so named because of its beautiful symmetrical shape which resembles the old Soviet tents which climbers use to use in the region.
