Meet Berhanu: He lives in the Northern Ethiopian province of Tigray and despite having only one functioning leg (as he fell from the roof of his house when he was 7 years old) he is the best campfire dancer we have ever met!

In 2019 we raised some money for him to purchase the equipment needed to open a barber shop which provided him with a livelihood other than struggling in the fields doing farm work.

His equipment and shop was however looted and destroyed by Eritrean soldiers during the recent war in Tigray.

In Ethiopia a little goes a long way, and we are delighted to say that with your help we have once again been able to support Berhanu by raising USD$1,586, affording him the working capital to be able to open a small convenience store on Friday 3rd October 2025, that he and his disabled sister can run together!

This is honestly life-changing for him and his family; allowing them to live with dignity running a small family business, instead of enduring the gruelling daily battles, uncertainty and frustrations of poverty.

So we thank you again.
